The Last Week

This course is closing to finish. The ten week web skills course was full of learning. I was really lucky to take this course.

In the past nine weeks, I learned various technology tools as well as important theories and principles in the learner-centered English instruction. I enjoyed creating a blog, a WebQest, an Interactive Powerpoint and a wiki. Those tools will be  of great help in my teaching.

I also liked to learn how to search what I need and Delicious. It makes a big difference in getting useful information.

I have learned about important theories and principles. And also, I learned about how to write objectives using ABCD and how to assess the students' performance.  I thought technology is a tool and the effectiveness and usefulness of the technology depend on the teacher who has concrete objectives and adequate methodology.

Moreover, learning from the classmates through discussions, blogs and seeing their works posted in the wiki. Everyone has a great experience and an open mind to share them with each other.
I am going to miss this class.

Thank you for everything, Donna and E-friends.

  1. Dear Tomoko

Thank you for sharing your final week reflection post. Now the course is about to conclude, it appears like everybody is feeling sad for it; nevertheless, I believe that everyone of us must also feel happy for having learnt so many important and useful technical tools and theory.

I agree with you in the sense that all topics referred on your blog have been properly assimilated for the sake of our students. In my opinion, Donna has become the ideal that has to be followed.

Thank you, Tomoko for the fine opportunity of having met you, and for having shared your educational ideas with us.

  2. Dear Tomoko,
You’ve mentioned something very important we learned in Chickering and Ehrmann ‘s SEVEN PRINCIPLES: ‘technology is not enough’. Without adequate objectives and methodology technology would be ineffective and useless.
One of the best characteristics of this course was to learn about the tools and resources and at the same time, think how they would enhance our learning environment.
Thank you for sharing this and all other posts. It’s been a pleasure to be in this course with you.
    Warm regards,
    Malu

  5. Hi Tomoko and other friends,

As you all pointed out here, it was a wonderful experience for me to be in contact with you for 10 weeks. Thanks for everything.

Tomoko and Malu, I agree with you on that technology is as effective and useful as the creativity, imagination and willingness of the teacher to use it. I am happy that my classmates are all so creative, imaginative and willing people.

    Best,
    Abdullah

  9. Hi Tomoko,

As usual, great description about the course!!! Everything that you say is true. It was an amazing course, full of interesting tools that helped us to become more familiar with technology, in order to increase our knowledge to be better teachers, and motivate our students using technology in their learning.
Good luck in all your projects and everything in your live.
